Explore this section to find out about our latest curriculum development initiatives, Affiliated Schools Scheme and professional development courses, as well as resource links and information about the various support networks available.

Students and teachers at Swanhurst School participate in a Rocket Building event organised by West Midlands Network Co-ordinator Lynne Long

Are you looking for local support? The Institute has established a Physics Teacher Network covering the whole of Great Britain and Ireland to provide support for physics teachers.

Teaching Advanced Physics

The Teaching Advanced Physics pages provide detailed ideas and resources for teaching physics to students aged 16 - 19.

Girls in physics

The number of girls who continue with physics after the age of 16 is a major concern. The Institute commissioned a review of the research to see if there were any strategies that might be successful in encouraging girls to study physics

Teaching Radioactivity

The Institute has produced a number of resources to support the teaching of radioactivity. We hope that these will help teachers to give students a more authentic and engaging experience of ionising radiations and sub-atomic particles
